Nibaran Roy School
 

Nibaran Roy Pre-Primary School

NULIFE Foundation charitable trust had adopted the "Nibaran Roy Pre-Primary School" at village Baidyapur, Tarakeshwar district, West Bengal. The school had three sections, KG I, II and III and has about 120 students, who came from near & far distances. It was staffed by 6 Teachers-cum-Attendants who reside in the rural areas around the school. The management of school was supervised by NULIFE which helped in the following areas:
  • Suitable arrangements towards transportation of students in Cycle Rikshaw Vans
  • Reconstruction of Swing & Slide for student's recreation
  • Monthly stipends to teachers & attendants
  • Monthly reimbursement for utilities and maintenance
  • Free Exercise Books and Annual Diary to all students for progress monitoring
All other incidental expenses were also borne by NULIFE. It is unfortunate that the project had to be closed due to governance and transparency issues in 2011.

Mid-Day Meals

The Mid-day Meals Project was operational since 2008 till mid 2011, in collaboration with Shri Prayag Dham Shiksha Samiti (Regd.) and Shri Maharaja Agarsen Jan Kalyan Samiti.

The above NGOs ran a school for under-privileged children in Mundaka Village, Delhi-41 (a suburb of Delhi).NULIFE provided Mid-Day Meals to all children who attended the school, six days a week. A cook was engaged at the premises to provide freshly cooked meal to around 150 children. All arrangements to provide Mid-day meals were made by NULIFE and all expenses for groceries, transportation and cook services were being borne by the trust. The project was closed in 2011, due to change in management and transparency issues.


Computer Literacy

Location of Project: Vijay Mandir, Alwar, Rajasthan
No. of Direct Beneficiaries: About 75 students

The Computer Literacy Centre Project for the under privileged was in collaboration with non-profit organization " SAPNA" in Alwar, Rajasthan. (www.sapnango.in) the centre has 3 computer labs which hosts 75 students across 7 batches at present. CLC provides basic education in Computer science including elementary software training.

The centre has two professional computer teachers who were reimbursed 50% of their monthly expenses by NULIFE Charitable Foundation Trust for their services.

This was operational till 30th June 2012.

Maharishi Dayanand

Maharishi Dayanand Education Society School (MDES)

Location of Project: Near South city I, Gurgaon, Haryana
No. of Direct Beneficiaries: About 200 children, age 3-15years

This school is being managed by Maharishi Dayanand Education Society near south city 1, Gurgaon , a non-profit organization. It provides education upto Standard IV, to around currently 200 under-privileged children from nearby localities. It currently has 8 teachers. It also provides snacks/meals 2-3 times a week.

NULIFE was engaged in providing Strategic direction and was also financing for two teachers. It also provided uniforms to the children.this was operational till 31st December 2012.

ECCE

Early Child Care and Education (ECCE) program

Location of Project: Bawana JJ & Slum Colony, New Delhi
No. of Direct Beneficiaries: 25 children, age 3-8 years
Nu life sponsored one of the six preschool centers in JJ colony, Bhawana which had 25 children.
This program was run in association with children International India Trust (CIIT) which had been working in Bhawana JJ colony, Delhi since the year 2007. The preschool centre is a place where children 's ' nutrition and education needs are addressed.

The Pre-Primary program, is on the lines of the Integrated Child Development Scheme and it includes Education & Nutrition and Health Care. Education is child centered, activity based interactive teaching and learning with Education Materials and work on education with parents who cannot read/write.

This project was operational till 31st December 2012.

Project Daksha

While realizing the need, that employment should follow education, Nulife took a decision to impart vocational skills to the underprivileged section of the society, so as to make them financially independent and self-reliant. The first centre was established in 2012 in Badshahpur village. This centre imparts vocational skills like tailoring, beauty parlor, rug making, candle making etc.. The second centre was established in 2013 in Patel Nagar. This centre too, imparted vocational skills like mehndi and tailoring programs. However the centre at Patel Nagar has been closed and a new centre is shortly to be re-opened at Tikri village ,Gurgaon, offering quality certified courses.
In addition, Nulife has liasoned with certain corporate to impart vocational skills through certified courses. Besides, imparting skills, Nulife strives to provide employment opportunities. Eg. The girls trained for mehndi are provided opportunity to apply mehndi at various occasions or the students learning tailoring are provided opportunity to work at various export houses. Also some certified courses assure employment to the trainees.

Project Lakshya

This Project is a public-private partnership project of Nulife with the Government Schools. The objective is to enhance the standard of education in the government schools with the expertise and management resources of the NGO while leveraging the infrastructure available at these schools. Nulife provides these schools with educational, infrastructural, managerial and financial support.
First of such schools, identified, under this project, was Rosewood Govt. School, Gurgaon in 2012. The second school that has been adopted by Nulife is the Primary Government school in Ghasola village in 2013. The total number of beneficiaries in both the schools is 130 students.
The students of these schools are provided with value-based exposure, so as to develop them holistically. The children are occasionally taken for Environmental drives; cultural shows are organized, sports are encouraged.

Project Disha

Disha, as the name suggests, was conceptualized as an Integrated Child development centre to give direction to the less privileged children of the society. It follows the NIOS curriculum. Disha aims at holistically developing children through quality education, all round knowledge, values, behavioral skills and catering to their nutritional requirements. For the very same purpose, various programs are conducted eg. Planting saplings at the Biodiversity Park, organizing plays, performances, &, drawing competitions, Cleanliness drives, picnics, Sports function etc . Disha has admitted about 45 children over last three years, in Ryan International, CD Sr. Secondary School etc.
Nulife is pleased to announce the taking up of a new Disha school on rent at Tikri village. It is a spacious place with 6 rooms. The objective is to establish an EWS school under the NIOS system and a Skill Development Center. We hope to add 100 plus beneficiaries to this school. The previous centres at EWS,Malibu Town and Patel Nagar have been consolidated into this new one.
